Human Attributes are scaled to an average of zero.
+6 represents the best possible without enhancement.
-6 represents the lowest possible while still functioning.

Attributes are by necessity a broad category covering multiple characteristics, lumped into one number.

The seven attributes are:

Strength (STR): Physical prowess, lifting capacity, etc.
Dexterity (DEX): Speed, fine motor skills, reaction.
Constitution (CON): Endurance, disease resistance, overall health.
Intelligence (INT): I.Q., pattern recognition, language.
Will (WILL): Strength of mind, ability to resist temptation, sense of self.
Charisma (CHA): Strength of personality, ability to influence others, attractiveness.

And one quality, not technically an attribute.
It’s value is determined by class, training, and attributes.

Perception (PER): Ability to notice things in passing and find hidden things when searching. It’s base level is your INT score.
